Zeal For God’s House: How To Respond To Haters Of God

 

𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗱𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝘆 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝘆 𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘃𝗮𝗶𝗻.
𝗗𝗼 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗜 𝗵𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺, 𝗢 𝗟𝗼𝗿𝗱, 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗲?
𝗜 𝗵𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗱: 𝗜 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗲𝘀 (𝑷𝒔 139:20-22)

When you cannot correct people who talk trash about the LORD because you wouldn’t want to lose your friendship with them; God may cause you to lose that friendship for your own good because friendship with the world is enimity with God.(James 4:4).

You cannot love the world and love the Lord. The two doesn’t just go together.

Just as you cannot love and serve both God and mammon (money or wealth). You either love one and hate the other. Mt 6:24.

Hear David proclaiming the extent of his love for God in Psalm 63:1:

O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.

Also, in Psalm 42:1, the Psalmist declared: As a deer gets thirsty for streams of water, I truly am thirsty for you, my God. (Contemporary English Version; CEV)

The Psalmist says he hates such people with perfect hatred.

In our generation, Christians are not standing up for the faith which they profess and are not being zealous enough to defending the truth of the gospel of the kingdom, all in the name of; God will fight for Himself.

It’s true that God can, and will fight for Himself, but you that love the Lord, what have you done?

It must not be a physical fight, but what have you done for the sake of the God you love?

Numbers 25:6-15, tells the story of Phinehas and the judgement he executed on Zimri and Cozbi due to his zeal for God.

This was accounted unto him for righteousness as the Psalmist says in Psalm 106:30-31.

What Phinehas did may be considered overboard if it was done today, and could even send him to jail, but that was the extent some people went in their zeal for God in the past.

If it is obvious that someone hates God through their words, actions and inactions and you aren’t doing anything to change them by the way of preaching, correction, actions, as the case may be, how would you prove that you love them? How could you show that you love God too?
Your closeness to them should be able to draw them to God and make them change their ways, and/or reconsider their actions, or else, you are not being a salt or light to them.

ℙ𝕣𝕒𝕪𝕖𝕣: Dear heavenly Father, help me to stand for the truth in Your name, manifesting Your love by my words and actions, that at all cost, I may save some, to the glory of Your name. Amen!
