You Are Loved And Accepted – Joyce Meyer Devotional, 18th November 2023
God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
— 2 Corinthians 5:21 (NIV)
Topic: You Are Loved And Accepted (Joyce Meyer Devotional, Today, November 18, 2023; Partly Paraphrased)
God wants us to experience acceptance and love. Because of this, His Word is filled with several verses that serve as a constant reminder of His unwavering love for us (John 3:16, 15:13; Romans 8:35–39). Romans 5:8 tells us that God sent His Son to die in our place, at the expense of our sins, so that we would have intimate communion with Him even while we were still sinners and did not yet care about Him.
When we receive Jesus as our Savior, He takes our sin and gives us His righteousness, as today’s scripture teaches us. We may not understand the full impact of this. How can we fathom what it really means to be made right with God at no cost to ourselves? This is a glorious truth, one that will change the way we see ourselves as it sinks into our hearts.
Today, I’m going to challenge you to consider that God thinks highly of you, that He loves and accepts you entirely, and that you have a good relationship with Him because of Christ. Consider how God sees you, and think or say something positive about yourself in light of that. I’m not advocating for pride; rather, I’m urging you to have the courage to accept that you are indeed who God has created you to be.
David says to God in Psalm 139:14, “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” Many people struggle to believe such positive words about themselves, but I hope and pray today that you will believe them for yourself, because they are true.
Prayer of the Day: Father, Thank You, Lord, for loving and accepting me completely and for making me righteous through Christ. Help me to feel about myself the way You feel about me.
