Differences Between Barnabas, Barsabas and Barabbas

Barnabas – His original name was Joses. He was surnamed Barnabas which means, the son of consolation. (Acts 4:36). It was he who sold a land and brought the money and laid it at the apostles’ feet. (Acts: 4:37).

Barsabas – His original was Joseph and called Barsabas. He was surnamed Justus. He was one of the two appointed to replace Judas. (Acts 1:23)

Barabbas – His freedom was demanded of the chief priests and Jews instead of Jesus. (Lk 23:18; My 27:11) He was imprisoned because he had caused sedition, insurrection and murder in the city (Lk 23:19)
